Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)


Program Description

Our CHHA training is imparted by experienced register nurses and at the conclusion of the Home Health Aide Program, the student sits for a completion examination at the school. If successful, student will receive their CA State Certificate within few weeks from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). There are two types of home health aide programs:

  1. 40 Hours for individuals who are already Certified Nurse Assistants
  2. 120 hours for individuals who are not Certified Nurse Assistants

The Home Health Aide Program will be held in a classroom and clinical experience will be at the contracted skilled nursing facility. The course is conducted during weekdays, Monday through Friday for one week for the 40 hours program and 3 weeks for the 120 hours program.

Salary range for CHHA is between $18.00 to $24.00 to start depending on experience, location, patient’s condition, etc.

Home Health Aide Duties:

• Personal hygiene
• Assisting nurses
• Taking vital sings
• Setting up medical equipment
• Assisting with treatments
• Recording I&O
• Range of motion
• Providing psychological/emotional support, etc.

General Admission Requirements:

• Active certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• California ID and Social Security Card
• CPR Card
• Physical Exam
•Live scan/ fingerprinting
•Must be 16 years of age
